Annual Maximums

Annual Deductibles
Dental plans will have an annual deductible ranging from $25 to $100 per year. Deductibles usually only apply to the basic and major services. Preventative services are usually covered from the effective date on the policy with no deductible required.
Waiting Periods
Most dental plans will either include a waiting period or reduced benefits for the first 6 to 12 months on some benefits depending on the plan. Preventative benefits are usually covered at 100% (in-network) from the effective date of the policy.
Network vs Non-Network
Dental plans can come with in-network only benefits (HMO) or both in-network and out-of-network benefits (PPO). On an HMO plan, if you go out of network, you will be responsible for the entire bill. On the other hand, On a PPO plan, in order to receive the full benefit of the plan, you must stay in network or your benefits will be reduced, but you can still see any dentist thet you would like.
